The previous episode of Loki season 2 concluded on a low note. The fate of the TVA and multiple timelines are in danger. Victor Timely was ready to fix the problem but was immediately killed. It was easy to guess that he wouldn’t survive the radiation, but no one thought it would die immediately. Now, every timeline is in danger and it’s up to Mobius, Loki, O.B. Casey, and Sylvie to save the multiverse.

This is one of the more dire situations fans have seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most of the problems affect one or maybe two universes. Season 2 of Loki has already seen the destruction of multiple timelines. That means billions of people have already died. The only show that may have had more deaths was fellow Disney Plus show What if…?. It’s easy to guess that the multiverse will be saved. However, how many universes will perish before that happens?

Towards the end of the fourth episode, Loki pruned himself. When Sylvie sees this, the God of Mischief says to trust him. Whatever happened helped stop the destruction of the multiverse. Considering time travel is involved, hopefully it won’t be confusing. The bigger question is how pruning himself will affect the God of Mischief going forward.
