Loki episode 5 post-credit scene is streaming now, just don’t expect a post-credit scene as Marvel has once again opted not to include one.

I know, I know. Trust me, I am just as disappointed as you but Marvel has indeed once again opted not to include a post-credit scene of any kind in the latest episode of Loki. As fans are quickly discovering as they sit down to watch Loki season 2 episode 5, the penultimate episode of the season opts not to include a post-credit scene which is just downright disappointing.

Like most fans, the moment the episode ended, I quickly began fast-forwarding through the credits to see if there was a bonus scene waiting for us after the shocking ending. While we perhaps shouldn’t be too surprised given the nature of the episode’s cliffhanger ending was to leave us wanting more, that doesn’t mean we can’t be disappointed Marvel opted not to include any type of bonus scene.

Loki has only had one post-credit scene this season

Heading into the final episode of the season, there has only been one post-credit scene in Loki‘s second season. That post-credit scene came during the first episode of the season which made sense.

In the post-credit scene from episode 1, fans got their first glimpse of Slyvie after the character was missing from the episode. In that scene, we’re transported to Oklahoma circa 1982,  where we see Slyvie arrive in a branched timeline. It’s here that she sees a McDonald’s which she enters and proceeds to ask for one of everything as the scene fades to black.

This has been an interesting change of pace for the show as we’re not used to getting a post-credit scene so early in the season. Instead, the post-credit scenes tend to come in the final episodes of the show.

Instead, Marvel has been quite stingy with bonus scenes this season but the decision has been brilliant as it’s kept fans on the edge of their seats and wanting more each week. Every episode of the show has ended with some form of major cliffhanger and episode 5 was no different. As such, it makes sense that Marvel would not want to include a teaser after the episode’s end as doing so would cheapen the cliffhangers the episodes have built to.

What will be interesting is to see whether we might get a post-credit scene in the finale. Marvel opted not to include a post-credit scene in the first season and instead used the post-credits to announce the show had been renewed.

With the future of Loki up in the air, we’re not sure what Marvel might tease next week but we imagine a post-credit scene could be coming our way! At least we’re optimistic one will be included!
