13. Warren Christie

Appeared in: Batwoman

After many years of anticipation and waiting, Batman finally made his debut in The CW’s Arrowverse in its final canon show Batwoman. The only problem was that he only appeared via blurred flashbacks throughout the show’s first season, as the premise of Batwoman involved the Scarlet Knight becoming Gotham’s new hero when the Caped Crusader vanished. However, that all changed when Warren Christie was cast as Bruce Wayne.

There was a lot of excitement when the casting was announced (and not just because it meant we finally knew what Bruce Wayne looked like in the Arrowverse), as Christie looked like Bruce. The unfortunate aspect is that he ended up playing Hush, as Tommy Elliot impersonated the playboy billionaire. He nailed the role, but it did leave us wondering what his performance as the actual Bruce Wayne could have been like. The second season gave us glimmers of that when he did get to play a version of the character who appeared to Luke Fox in a near-death-driven dream sequence.

Christie had the charisma and the suaveness that made him a dream casting for Bruce Wayne. It’s just unfortunate that Batwoman never got round to bringing him in as the real Bruce or allowing him to suit up as The Dark Knight. Nevertheless, we liked what we saw.
