4. The X-Men vs Dr. Doom’s mutants

Comic book: X-Men No. 28 by Gerry Duggan

Orchis has made it a point to take out every mutant in the world. The one group that resisted was in Latveria. Some of the Orchis members wanted to go after them but decided it wasn’t worth the effort. Once that information gets back to the X-Men, Shadowkat and Ms. Marvel take a trip to Latveria. When they landed, Wolverine was waiting for them. The last page of X-Men No. 28 shows Dr. Doom and his mutants prepared for their arrival.

Of course, a fight should take place. It’s what everyone wants to see. However, it would be interesting if one didn’t. Dr. Doom may see the value in working with the X-Men. Even if it’s briefly. Although, he wouldn’t give up an opportunity to test his soldiers.

3. Superman gets a sword

Comic book: Action Comics No. 1058 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson

The Blue Earth leader Norah Stone found a way to take away some of Superman’s powers and give them to one of her followers. Thankfully, the Man of Steel knew more about his powers than he did and used that against him. After the battle, Superman’s abilities were still weakened. In order to counter that, Clark Kent went to John Irons (Steel). Irons made Superman a metal suit with a sword to go with it.

Normally, this wouldn’t be important. Because the Blue Earth Movement is going after Superman and his family so aggressively, Clark is forced to adjust. They assume that his being weakened will help them. Too bad that’s not the case. Just ask everyone on War World. Even without his abilities, he helped free an entire planet.
