As rumors swirl about Robert Downey Jr. returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we asked AI to write seven storylines bringing Iron Man back into the MCU.

It’s been over four years since we last saw Robert Downey Jr. suit up as Iron Man within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, at the time of Avengers: Endgame’s release, it seemed like that was the last time we’d see Tony Stark in the MCU.

Honestly, while it hurt to see the man who helped launch the MCU leave the franchise, it was a fitting sendoff and we wouldn’t change a single thing about the ending of Endgame. Having Iron Man die the ultimate hero’s death as a way to save the world and stop Thanos was the perfect way to bring Iron Man’s journey to a close.

Perhaps it’s for that reason fans are so surprised to know that Marvel is not only looking to bring Downey Jr. back into the fold but Downey Jr. is rumored to have agreed to return.

Given how perfect of an ending Marvel delivered to Tony Stark’s story in Endgame, it’s going to be interesting to see how Marvel will look to bring the character back in a way that will honor the character’s legacy without cheapening his death. Clearly, Marvel has a plan in place, but we’re not likely to hear about the plan for some time; however, that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate about how Iron Man could return.

With the power of ChatGPT’s AI, we asked AI to write seven storylines that could be used to bring Iron Man back into the MCU with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the role. No restrictions were placed on the direction AI could take in coming up with these storylines, which resulted in the tool taking some very creative liberties with crafting storylines to bring Iron Man back!
