6. The Undertaker vs. Batista – WWE SmackDown (April 25, 2008)

The week after ‘Taker and Batista teamed up to take out Edge’s faction, the old rivals would meet again in another World Championship clash at the behest of Vickie Guerrero, but to make life more difficult for the Champion, this time it would be in a No Disqualification Match.

Without Edge or his buddies on the outside to interfere, this was a chance for The Undertaker and Batista to remind us why their rivalry of the previous year was so darn magical, and they pulled it off with another physical clash that felt like it could have gone either way. Sure, it was on broadcast television, so it was shorter than most of their iconic showdowns, but they made every second count, throwing bombs at each other to try to subdue their opponent.

The No Disqualification stipulation only occasionally came into play (which shows you how good the chemistry between the two is as they never needed it) but when it did, it did so with a vengeance. Batista’s delivery of the Spinebuster on Taker onto the steel steps still raises the hairs on the back of your neck.

When all was said and done, The Undertaker’s music was playing and both men lay in the ring completely and utterly exhausted after a classic. And suddenly it was 2007 all over again.
