5. The Undertaker vs. Batista (Hell In A Cell match) – Survivor Series 2007

As you’ll come to see on the remainder of the entries on this list, ‘Taker and Batista’s initial rivalry was all about respect between two powerhouse athletes. They loved battling each other because they always pushed each other to the limit and walked out of their showdowns stronger. And there is no greater type of battle than Hell In A Cell. Yes, this is where the feud was at its most brutal.

JBL said on commentary that this match was like coming home for The Undertaker, and he was so right. The Phenom’s history inside Hell In A Cell spoke for itself, so to see this exciting rivalry between him and The Animal forge a chapter of that history was so exciting (I remember the excitement building up to it!). It was bloody and brutal, while offering new things to the rivalry that we hadn’t seen before (Batista’s kickout of the first Tombstone Piledriver and The Undertaker’s subsequent facial expression was golden). Even though Batista’s victory was marred by Edge’s interference, it was a fitting final chapter to the initial feud between the pair because they left it all in the ring one more time.

Speaking of final chapters…
