The 8 best (and 7 worst) Arrowverse couples
Which of the Arrowverse’s many couples enhanced their respective shows and which ones were the absolute worst?
The Arrowverse entertained us all for over a decade. The CW’s shared universe of superheroes first made its presence felt on TV viewers with the debut of Arrow, but it expanded beyond belief with the arrival of spinoff The Flash, which set the stage for 10 years of entertainment from various shows. It all came to an end in May with the series finale of The Flash.
Over the years we have fallen in love with so many of the Arrowverse heroes and villains on the small screen, and they have fallen in love as well. Relationships are a big part of what makes some of the Arrowverse shows work, because the long-form format of television allows for extensive exploration and growth, all while giving our favorite characters something to fight for. Every hero deserves the chance to love and watching them fall for someone was almost always a welcome part of the plot.
But not all of the Arrowverse’s couples were in their respective shows’ best interests. Whether they were a pairing of convenience, took over the show, or they just didn’t work, some left us wishing they had never been paired together.
With that in mind, let’s take a look back at the very best and worst of the Arrowverse’s relationships.
