The soundtrack for The Marvels is quite an interesting blend and includes one particular song we never would have expected!
Now, typically soundtrack news doesn’t include a spoiler warning; however, we do want to warn you that there are two songs on the tracklist that are MAJOR spoilers even without context.

Okay, so let’s start with arguably the ABSOLUTE GREATEST use of a song we have ever seen in a Marvel movie: Barbara Streisand’s “Memory.”
Spoiler incoming as the use of “Memory” does contain some spoilers to set the scene up!
Perhaps — or should I say purr-haps — the most memorable use of a song within The Marvels was the decision to utilize “Memory” by Barbara Streisand against the backdrop of one of the movie’s most unexpected and delightful scenes.
For those who don’t already know, the song was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber for the musical Cats so it was incredibly fitting to use the song in the montage which saw Goose’s legion of Flerken kittens running around the SABER space station gobbling up the scientists and engineers based out of the station.
Pairing the dramatic and iconic Cats ballad with the hilariously chaotic scene as the Flerken kittens swallowed up panicked and frantic SABER members left me in tears, that’s how hard I was laughing. It was absolutely perfect and I don’t think I will ever be able to listen to the song again without thinking of a Flerken or The Marvels.
The moment was the perfect example of how the right song can amplify a scene and we imagine “Memory” is going to be the standout song Marvel fans will be adding to their playlists after watching The Marvels in theaters.
