The season 2 premiere of Invincible did not disappoint. In less than an hour, fans witnessed a lot. First, Mark is still dealing with everything involving the betrayal of his father (Omni-Man). Despite proving himself time and again, Mark is still an insecure superhero. It doesn’t help that Cecil Stedman doesn’t trust him. However, Cecil has enough faith in him enough to give him an earpiece. This way he can call on Mark whenever he’s needed.

The most important part of the episode came towards the end. In a failed attempt to save trillions throughout the multiverse, Angstrom Levy becomes unlike himself. His mind is altered and he believes that Invincible is the cause. Now, Invincible is Angstrom’s enemy. If you’ve read the source material, you know how menacing Angstrom Levy will be going forward.

On the official Invincible Twitter page, a tweet showed fans that the Lizard League is returning. They’ll fight the Guardians of the Globe and Earth’s newest hero, Shapesmith. Shapesmith is a Martian who came to Earth with Mark and NASA after they left Mars (season 1, episode 4). This hints towards the arrival of the Sequids. The way things have sped up in this series, it wouldn’t be shocking if the Sequids vs. the Guardians of the Globe fight happens in this episode. At the very least this ends with the showing hinting to it happening next week.

Another thing to look for is the evolution of Angstrom Levy. He may not be a force in this episode, but we will see what his next step will be. If it’s like the comics, expect to see alternate versions of Mark.
