Will Gen V air a new bonus episode tonight?

Will there be a new episode of The Boys: Gen V tonight on Amazon Prime Video? Is there going to be a follow-up season?
The Boys’ spinoff was more than a success. It’s one of the best comic book TV projects of the last few years. That isn’t an exaggeration. Gen V had a perfect story, and a flawless cast, and did it with characters that aren’t well known. Most of the stars didn’t even exist before the show’s debut. There aren’t many superhero shows that can boast that.
To top it all off, the show’s season finale kept fans on edge. Homelander appeared on campus and “saved the day.” After blasting Marie with his laser eyes, she wakes up in a room without doors. She’s there with her friends Emma, Jordan, and Andre. Meanwhile, Sam and Cate became the “real” Guardians of Godolkin. The true heroes don’t know how they got there or why they’re being held.
Unfortunately, it will be a while before we get any real answers on what’s next for The Boys or Gen V.
Is Gen V new this week?
There won’t be a new episode of Gen V streaming on Amazon Prime Video this week. While Thursday evenings/Friday mornings are indeed when the streamer releases new episodes of The Boys spinoffs, the most recent episode was the season 1 finale.
Everything that happened in the eighth episode will lead into season 4 of The Boys. We now know that is coming in 2024. The good news is that Gen V will also be back as Amazon Prime Video renewed the show for a second season, meaning that new episodes will be on the way – it just might be a while before they arrive as production has not yet commenced.
If this writer had to guess where the story could go next, the season should start with Butcher venturing into The Woods. In the source material, Butcher uses a sound to kill anyone with Compound V in their system. This seems like the same thing the Godolkin University staff did to the students.
The creative team behind The Boys’ projects could be going in that direction. If so, that’s one more thing Butcher can use to kill every supe in the world. Hopefully, like in the comics, Hughie can stop Butcher before he goes too far.
