The second episode of Invincible‘s second season hit on two plots that will affect the future of the series. First, when Mark Grayson (a.k.a. Invincible) fought a sea monster, the beast let out a sonic scream that hurt him. Being the prepared person that he is, Cecil took note of this. If Mark turns out to be like his father, he needs to be prepared.
Second, at the end of the episode, Angstrom Levy makes an appearance. He greets Mark Grayson in another reality where Invincible was evil. This time, the Guardians of the Globe stopped him. Levy initially told Mark he was going to free him. However, he left the Viltrumite trapped. Fans should expect to see more Invincbles from alternate realities in the third episode.
If the reports are true, episode 3 is titled “This Missive, This Machination”. A title that was used to tell Allen the Alien’s origin. It was also the first time readers saw the Coalition of Planets. A group of planets that are trying to stop the Viltrumite from taking over the world
This will be the biggest chunk of the episode. The Coalition of Planets is a major part of the Invincible story. Spending time getting to know the alien planet and the organization has to be told thoroughly. This way viewers know exactly what’s going on when Mark eventually joins the organization and visits their home base.
