Rocksteady’s highly anticipated game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, finally gets an exciting update along with new leaks

What a crazy and bumpy ride it has been for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The last time we saw or heard anything new from DC’s upcoming video game was in February 2023, close to one month before it was delayed from May of the same year to February 2024. Seven months have passed ever since (at the time of writing this) and during all of this time, Rocksteady has been completely silent regarding the project’s development, leading many of us to wonder what exactly is going on behind the scenes.

Well, it appears the days of living in the dark are finally coming to an end. Thanks to a (brief) official update and some exciting leaks, we might have a better idea of what to expect ahead of the game’s release.

There will be a new insider series

We’re less than four months away from the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Time is ticking, and Rocksteady has fewer and fewer chances to promote the game massively. The Game Awards would be the perfect place to make a huge impression and remind players the game is still alive and well. However, while we wait to see if DC’s group of supervillains makes a surprise appearance in the biggest gaming event of the year, it appears they will also be the stars of their own insider series.

On Wednesday, November 15, Rocksteady released the first episode of a series that will (hopefully) provide players with a deep dive into the game. The pilot will focus on gameplay and story, two aspects that still have many lingering questions up in the air. Are players going to be able to seamlessly switch characters in between a mission? Will there be microtransactions or a battle pass that directly affects gameplay? Is there more to the story than just trying to kill each member of the Justice League?

While we wait for the series to provide some answers, it’s time to look elsewhere to get more information and details regarding the game. And wouldn’t you know it, but we know exactly where to look.

Leaks for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Thanks to a Reddit post (that was verified by moderators), we now have new details regarding the game’s editions available for players to purchase. There will reportedly be a Deluxe Edition (which is common for almost all AAA video games) that provides three-day early access to the game along with extra costumes for the price of £99.99. The Day One Edition will have the regular price point of £69.99 and include the extra costumes as well.

Besides, we also have some juicy details regarding the game’s open world. Players can expect the map of Metropolis to have the following:

  • Real-time weather.
  • Dynamic day and night cycle.
  • Double the size of Batman: Arkham Knight.

Finally, it was reiterated that players can experience the game with friends in a co-op mode or traverse through the streets of Metropolis on their own, switching between playable characters while an A.I. takes control of the others. Besides, Rocksteady is committed to providing one year of extra content which will include new characters and missions.

Only time will tell if Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be able to escape the Marvel’s Avengers curse. After all, they appear to have similar live-service formats with extra costumes and the promise of adding new playable characters in the future.

Players are worried Rocksteady lost its focus on creating a complete and memorable single-player experience akin to Batman: Arkham City. Let’s hope the Insider series will provide more clarity on what type of game they’re aspiring to make and whether it will be worth it or not.
