The X-Men were betrayed by Captain America in Uncanny Avengers

Captain Krakoa is revealed as Captain America in Uncanny Avengers No. 4, but it’s not what you think.

Under the guise of Cyclops, Captain Krakoa continued to make mutants look bad. First, he recruited the Fenris Twins and former members of the Brotherhood of Mutants and the Mutant Liberation Front to further ruin the X-Men’s reputation. Although, the Twins did it because they’re hateful. Then, he stole a nuke to cause more chaos that mutants would be blamed for.

The Uncanny Avengers (aka the Unity Squad) remained one step behind until Quicksilver planted a tracker on the Fenris Twins. After discovering where the nuke was, the Avengers went to disarm it. Unfortunately, they needed Captain Krakoa to do it. While trying to beat the information out of him, Captain America discovered who Captain Krakoa was this entire time. He’s the Steve Rogers who was raised by Hydra.

As cool as this was, Hydra Steve Rogers being Captain Krakoa was one of the most obvious reveals ever. There’s only a small list of people that M.O.D.O.K. and Dr. Status would trust to get the job done accurately (even though he disobeyed them). The list of people who can get the drop on Steve Rogers and are built like him is even shorter. It couldn’t be anyone else.

The next issue of Uncanny Avengers is the final one of the mini-series. This is where things will get great. Everyone on this team has a reason to detest this particular Steve Rogers. Deadpool hates him because he blindly followed him (Secret Empire and Deadpool by Gerry Duggan) and did heinous things. The mutants want him dead for what they did while he posed as one of them. Then there’s the real Captain America. He took his face and made people fear and hate him. He’ll never forgive or forget that. All that’s left is to see how Hydra Cap’s story ends.

Will one of the members of the Unity Squad kill him? Is Steve Rogers going to defeat Hydra Cap and have him arrested? Or will he escape to fight another day? What if Orchis recruits him for a final fight against the X-Men? Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out.
