The Walking Dead Universe continues to grow and expand with its next show. Luckily, you won’t have to wait for long for the upcoming TWD show.

The Walking Dead Universe has just experienced the end of another era. Long-running spinoff show Fear The Walking Dead – the very first spinoff in the TWD Universe – has come to an end after eight enthralling seasons.

It’s a bittersweet time for fans of the AMC franchise’s world, as these endings are paving the way for new beginnings. But still, they are endings, and that means paying tribute to the shows that got us into this exciting spinoff-filled era to begin with.

With Fear‘s final season concluding, attention now shifts to the next installment of this world, and the good news is that you don’t have to wait too long to experience it.

The next Walking Dead show is indeed the long-awaited Rick and Michonne spinoff The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live and it will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on February 25, 2024. The cable network announced the date during the series finale of Fear The Walking Dead.

This project has been in the works since long before TWD ended, but it’s only within the last year that it has truly taken form. Originally planned as a set of Rick Grimes-centric movies, it was repackaged as a six-part series that would see Andrew Lincoln reprise his role as the sheriff-turned-survivor. Danai Gurira will also reprise her role as the sword-wielding Michonne, as the purpose of The Ones Who Live is to continue Rick and Michonne’s love story, which was a focal point of the original series.

That won’t be the only TWD show coming in 2024 either, as the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will also air next year. Subtitled “The Book of Carol“, it brings back Melissa McBride as the beloved Carol Peletier, reuniting her with Norman Reedus’ Daryl.
