Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation isn’t just a perfect game, it’s an upgrade from its predecessor in multiple ways.

It’s been a little under a month since PlayStation released Spider-Man 2. As predicted, it’s a contender for video game of the year. Gamers were given everything they could have wanted from this project by improving on what was already a flawless game. The next step would be doing something impossible. PlayStation and Insomniac Games had to improve on perfection. A feat that seemed insurmountable but was achieved.

Here’s how Spider-Man 2 showed the world that perfection isn’t a final form.

6. The story is still amazing

Insomniac Games previously produced two epic Spidey stories. The first followed Peter and then Miles. Spider-Man 2 continued the trend of amazing stories. It wasn’t just about beating up villains. Every part of the game came with something deeper than expected. The Martin Li and Miles story is a perfect example.

Miles saw Martin and wanted revenge for killing his father (the first Spider-Man game). When he was given the opportunity, Miles decided against it. This leads to a redemption story for the former Mister Negative.

These are the kind of moments needed for a comic book video game. It reminds the players who the hero truly is. This also leads us to the next section.
