3. Camina Drummer

This woman is everything.

Camina Drummer is one of those characters you honestly can’t help but adore, landing her right in the third spot for me. She’s a total badass, a boss, and over the series, she just keeps getting more and more awesome. What really makes Drummer stand out, other than her edgy and cool-looking makeup, is her rock-solid loyalty and her no-nonsense strength. She’s the kind of person who doesn’t just talk the talk: she walks the walk, and that’s super refreshing.

Drummer’s character arc in The Expanse is a testament to the show’s ability to come up with refreshing and engaging substories. Initially introduced as a tough-as-nails Belter faction leader, Drummer undergoes significant personal growth throughout the series. Her journey is marked by resilience, adaptability, and a big loyalty shift. Her leadership skills and unwavering commitment to the Belt make her a heavy and essential presence in the series, but it’s her internal conflicts and moral dilemmas that truly elevate her character. As she deals with what it means to be loyal to her people, she also faces the complexities of alliances with conflicting factions. Drummer’s evolution from a practical and stoic leader to someone navigating the delicate balance between duty and conscience adds depth to the series, making her a standout character in a lot of people’s books.

I love that, though she does get introduced as a side character, Drummer quickly shows everyone she’s not to be underestimated. She’s tough as nails, but it’s not just about being strong and fierce. There’s a real heart to her character. She’s deeply committed to her crew and her beliefs, and that’s something that shines through in every decision she makes. You get to see her deal with some pretty intense stuff, and she handles it like a champ. It’s this combo of being fiercely loyal, incredibly brave, and genuinely caring that makes her my personal favorite character in The Expanse and my top 3 in this list.
