There are a lot of forgotten movies within Disney’s massive catalog. Among them is The Sword in the Stone. Arthur (who later became King Arthur) spent the majority of the movie learning from Merlin. A character who became one of the most popular wizards of all time. To be frank, without him, there may not be a Harry Potter. Merlin’s big personality and profound magical skills made people pay attention to what a wizard could do.

Merlin is easily the most underappreciated character in all of Disney. This writer suggests going back and watching The Sword in the Stone. It still holds up sixty years later.

49. Baloo

Baloo is primarily known for the Jungle Book. His song “Bare Necessities” is a classic that expounds on the character’s carefree personality. Of course, that’s not enough to put him in the top 50 of all time. He makes the list thanks to Talespin.

Talespin is one of the original Disney animated shows of the 1990s. Like Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, Baloo was reintroduced outside his original content. He was still a carefree slacker, but he continued to evolve with the help of his ward Kit Cloudkicker, and his boss, Rebecca Cunningham. His improvement as a character helped make him more than just comic relief.
