Doctor Who has returned for its 60th Anniversary Specials. When can fans expect the second one, “Wild Blue Yonder”, to air?
It’s a good time for Doctor Who fans. Not only are we on the precipice of a brand new series (starring a brand new Doctor in Ncuti Gatwa), we are celebrating the show’s monumental 60th anniversary.
For that occasion, David Tennant returns as the Tenth Doctor, although technically he is now the Fourteenth Doctor too. It’s all about bridging the gap between the thirteenth and fifteenth doctors, and he has his beloved companion Donna Noble (played once again by Catherine Tate) back with him to do it.
The first of the specials aired on BBC One in the UK this week, kicking off the eagerly-awaited trilogy of episodes. But if you’re ready for the next one, here’s when you can watch it.
When does the next Doctor Who special air?
The second of the 2023 Doctor Who Specials will air and stream next Saturday, December 2 2023. For fans watching on TV in the UK and Ireland, it will air on BBC One at 6:30 pm GMT, while also being available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
Fans watching in the US on Disney Plus can stream it at 10:30 a.m. PT on the West Coast, 1:30 p.m. ET on the East Coast, 12:30 p.m. CT in the midwest, and 11:30 a.m. MT on the Mountain Time zone. (For a full list of its debut time in other time zones, click here).
This year marks a first for Doctor Who fans around the world as they can now watch it along with their friends in the UK due to its recent arrival on Disney Plus. It means that we can all experience it at the same time and watch the events play out together. Yes, that might mean staying up to (or getting up at) some crazy hours, but everyone in the Whoniverse is incredibly thankful for the option to do that.
After the first special started strong, we all can’t wait to see where the Tardis takes us all in the next one!
