18. Mirri Maz Duur

Featured in the first season of Game of Thrones, Mirri Maz Duur is a healer who is sought out by Daenerys Targaryen after Khal Drogo gets severely wounded. Dany believes this magical woman can bring Drogo back to health, but that’s not exactly what happens. In fact, this leads to his eventual death.

Mirri Maz Duur’s methods of healing involve blood magic, which Dany is desperate enough to agree to. But the outcome is nothing she could ever imagine as Drogo is left basically as a vegetable, while she also loses her child in the process. It’s completely heartbreaking, and while Mirri Maz Duur keeps her promise of keeping Drogo alive, it’s easy to question her motivations and intentions.

Meeting Mirri Maz Duur ends in devastation for Daenerys, making her a disliked character by Game of Thrones fans.

17.  Roose Bolton

If you’ve seen Game of Thrones, you’ll definitely know why people hate Roose Bolton. I mean, he kills Robb Stark, after all! Though he might not be the sole conspirator in the events of the Red Wedding, he is heavily involved and is the one to stab Robb in the heart. Opinions on the character may vary across the fandom, but we can’t forget his betrayal of the Starks at this moment.

Roose is also cold and calculating, known for his detachment and willingness to do whatever it takes to gain power. He’s not a good father to his bastard Ramsay; clearly, look at the way he turns out. The sigil of House Bolton certainly represents Roose and Ramsay well. And what’s to like about that?
