Have you, much like myself, ever dreamt of exploring ancient tombs, deciphering hieroglyphics, and running away from mummies? If you just nodded your head, there’s a good chance you’ve been bitten by The Mummy bug as a wee youngster (or adult). This fantastic film franchise swept across the globe like a frantic storm, leaving audiences thrilled, eager for more, and confused regarding their sexual orientation. With its mix of action, humor, romance, and yes, those pesky mummies (Imhotep included), it’s no wonder that people from all corners of the world instantly loved the franchise.

Success wasn’t just about the action-packed sequences or the cool story. At the heart of The Mummy franchise is a world full of amazing characters that we’ve grown to adore or dislike. They laugh, they love, they fight, and sometimes, they even come back from the dead (like, a lot of times, actually). These characters, each with their unique quirks and roles, added such depth and warmth to the movies that it ensured they weren’t just another action-packed flick but a journey filled with heart and soul. 10. Izzy

Who could forget that hilariously reluctant pilot with a dash of charisma and a sprinkle of resourcefulness from The Mummy Returns?

If you’ve ever needed a ride, especially a flying one, he’s your guy. However, when we’re looking at the bigger picture, with its brave heroes, cunning villains, and ancient mysteries, Izzy’s role feels more like a… delightful side dish rather than part of the main course. His charm is undeniable, but he’s more like the zesty garnish on our Mummy movie plate.

The fun thing about The Mummy Returns is that it’s packed with so many iconic and memorable characters. They each have their moments to shine, histories to unravel, and destinies to fulfill. And while Izzy brings a lot of heart and light-hearted moments to the table, the rest of the characters have deep-rooted arcs and development involved with the story’s core.

It’s not that Izzy isn’t fantastic, because he absolutely is – I actually quote him all the time – but in this world full of sand, mummies, and adventure, he’s grooving to his own beat and making us giggle along.
