5. Anck-su-Namun/Meela Nais

Here’s the thing about Anck-su-Namun: she’s truly the heart of some of the juiciest drama in The Mummy series. She’s a fierce ancient Egyptian princess, betrothed to the Pharaoh, with a love story so intense it literally spans thousands of years. It’s her burning passion for Imhotep that kickstarts the whole slew of mummies coming back to life and wreaking havoc.

Her character embodies both the allure of ancient Egypt that we all loved when we watched the franchise as youngsters and the thrills of a timeless love story. But she’s also got a modern-day version, Meela Nais, which adds another layer to the mix. We’re not just seeing the past – we’re seeing how the past influences the present. It’s actually a really cool concept and it blew my mind as a kiddo.

Now, you might wonder why, with all this history and double-role action, she’s sitting comfortably at number 5. It’s not that she’s any less fabulous than the top 4, but our ranking also looks at character depth and motivations. While love and power are fantastic drivers, they can sometimes come across as a bit one-dimensional compared to characters with a broader range of experiences and emotions.

That being said, Anck-su-Namun is an absolutely essential piece of the Mummy puzzle, and without her, the storyline just wouldn’t exist. She brings that perfect blend of romance, mystique, and ambition to the table, making her one of the series’ standout characters.
