Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 produced a frustrating episode with episode 18, one that prompted some strong reactions.

During the first Thanksgiving I spent with my family in about 10 years, I promptly left my sister’s mother-in-law’s office and demanded a third strong drink.

My family, understanding the severity of the fact I asked for a third and strong drink, quickly obliged and asked if “my show had gone sideways”. Blinking away the

tears, I nodded, grabbed my glass, and went back into my isolation in order to finish the episode.

*** SPOILER ALERT AS WE ARE ABOUT TO DIVE INTO THE EVENTS OF JUJUTSU KAISEN SEASON 2 EPISODE 18. ALL OF IT. ***

I. am. so. mad.

I am mad because my favorite bad guy killed my second favorite character.

Nanami is unceremoniously tossed aside as Mahito comes out of hiding just to explode him. The whole time we watched Nanami strutting down the halls of the Shibuya Station, half burned, imagining he’s at a sunny beach as he slashes through curses…….  and then Mahito comes out of hiding and, just like a bitch, kicks his opponent while he’s down. He waits until he knows Yuji is watching and completely obliterates everyone’s favorite Daddy and babysitter. I am not sure how I will recover from this.

Yuji and Mahito start to fight, and Mahito starts to use humans against Yuji in an attempt to break him mentally. In a flashback, we see Mahito taunt Jogo (RIP, fiery guy) and just split into two like it’s the easiest thing ever. He goes up the stairs to the next floor while his second self finds Nobaru.

Nobaru and Mahito start to fight, and we are left with a suspenseful ending as the episode ends with Mahito saying he’d drag Nobaru’s corpse out to Yuji and break his soul.

This was an episode that felt incredibly short, but that’s also because I was very stunned by Nanami’s death. I kind of suspected it, but I didn’t really expect such a dear character to be murdered so brutally like that.

I guess I’ll go eat some turkey and drown my sadness into some stuffing and I’ll eventually be okay.

I just really hope Nobaru won’t the the next personal favorite to die next. I’ll kill Mahito myself for that (by writing his name on a piece of paper and tearing it to pieces, because I can’t do anything against an anime character).
