Batwoman
Seasons: 3
For just three seasons, Batwoman had quite the turbulent run. A poor trailer divided people before it even began, but when it did eventually prove itself, star Ruby Rose exited after just one season, leaving its future in doubt. Thankfully, Javicia Leslie swooped in and saved the day, completely turning things around and helping gift Batwoman with its greatest days.
Unfortunately, the show was the first of many to fall at the hands of both the changing directions at The CW and Warner Bros. Discovery. The network was reportedly interested in renewing it for at least one more season (before new owners Nexstar would have inevitably decided to end it) but Warner seemingly didnât want to pay for the leases for the studio space, meaning that the network had no choice but to end it and DCâs Legends of Tomorrow prematurely.
Batwoman had a lot working against it, but it eventually overcame that adversity and delivered its best season as its last. Thatâs a pretty great way to go out, but we canât help wish the show could have given viewers more seasons of this high standard, and itâs a darn shame that something that was afforded to most of its Arrowverse peers was robbed from it. Yes, itâs a case of wrong time and wrong place for Batwoman and Legends, but that doesnât make it right. These shows deserved better, and fans deserved at least one more season.
Verdict: Cancelled too soon
