Fear The Walking Dead

Seasons: 8

Before we dive into this, I just want to make it clear that if Fear The Walking Dead had remained in its original form, eight seasons wouldn’t have been enough. But for Fear The Walking Dead in its final form, eight seasons was far too much.

The very first TWD spinoff, it was initially a prequel series that focused on the Clark family’s attempt to survive the beginning of the apocalypse. Its third season, in particular, was exquisite. And then a new creative team came in and decided to follow that up by… jumping years into the future, making it a Walking Dead companion series, bringing in TWD‘s monologue-heavy Morgan, and killing off its two main characters. Needless to say everything that was going for Fear died with Nick and (fakeout death) Madison.

Though some successes were seen after that (such as a solid beginning to season 6 and the decision to finally bring Madison back), Fear  spent the remainder of its run defying logic and its fans, ignoring advice, and just doing its own thing at all costs. Sure, there were moments of brilliance, but the show became a parody of itself – or more like a parody of The Walking Dead -after season 3. And considering season 3 was one of the best seasons of the whole TWD Universe, that’s a darn shame.

Verdict: Ran too long
