Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire gets hyped as WB reveals a poster and teases yet another incredible kaiju rivalry to look forward to.

Warner Bros literally said “let’s give Cam a nice birthday present in the shape of a new Godzilla movie.”

Get ready, my fellow kaiju enthusiasts, because the MonsterVerse is gearing up for an explosive return to the big screen with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. As a die-hard Godzilla fan, the excitement is real, and even though I have been completely immersed and obsessed with Apple TV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters show, the recently unveiled movie poster and trailer have reignited the fires of anticipation in my tiny soul.

The poster, a masterpiece in its simplicity, features a white background with a red handprint at the center – not to be confused by Saruman’s White Hand. The hand has a primate creature’s face dead center, but it doesn’t quite look Kong as we know him. This potentially new Kaiju, distinguishable by its piercing blue eyes and a thinner frame, hints at a new and excited adversary for the strong monstrosity that is King Kong.

Eagle-eyed fans will remember the title reveal teaser, where an ape-like monster sat on a throne amid the enigmatic ruins of Hollow Earth. Could this be the same creature featured on the poster? Could the hashtag #SkarKing give us any inkling about the new kaiju’s name?

The tagline on the poster, “Bow to your new king,” leaves little room for interpretation. It’s a clear challenge, suggesting that this new Kaiju is not here for a friendly game of poker with Kong.

Is this our new king, the one we’ll bow to?

Sorry, there is only one king I bow to, and his name is Godzilla.

Scheduled for release on April 12, 2024, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire promises more kaiju action and deeper-diving into the MonsterVerse’s lore and monsters. Director Adam Wingard, the same director behind Godzilla vs. Kong, is back to ensure a seamless continuation of the epic monster battles that have captivated audiences worldwide.

As a Godzilla fan celebrating having an incredible MonsterVerse show currently streaming on Apple TV and a badass Godzilla movie that scored a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, the anticipation for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire hits like waiting for a colossal monster to emerge from the depths. With the release date just four months away, we must brace ourselves for more glimpses of the impending clash between these titanic beings as we get more teasers and little clips dropped along the way.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is not just a movie – it’s a celebration of our love for monsters, mayhem, and the indomitable spirit of Godzilla and Kong, and I am here for it!
