We asked AI what the worst Avengers movie is (and its pick is ironic)

While each Avengers movie is amazing in its own right, some are better than others and AI made a bold decision in selecting the worst of the batch.

Over the years, Marvel has released a lot of movies, but there is no denying that the studios’ team-up movies have been among the most memorable movies to ever grace the big screen.

Getting to see the Avengers team up not only allowed audiences to see their favorite heroes alongside one another, but these movies often pitted the heroes against their greatest threats. This in turn brought audiences some amazing showdowns that rank among the best the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever produced.

Within the first four phases of the MCU, the Avengers assembled a grand total of four times officially — I still consider Captain America: Civil War to be the unofficial fifth Avengers movie but that’s a conversation for another day. In these movies, the heroes of the MCU faced off against some formidable threats including Loki, Ultron, and Thanos.

Each of the Avengers movies are incredible in their own special way, but it’s fair to say that not every movie was created equally.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is the worst Avengers movie according to AI

When you ask Marvel fans what the worst Avengers movie is, you’re likely to get varying responses based on numerous factors. Some will point out plot flaws, others will simply rank the movies because their favorite characters get more screen time in one movie over another. It’s hard to truly be non-biased with selecting the worst movie in a franchise which is why we decided to turn to AI.

Interestingly, when we asked ChatGPT’s AI what the worst Avengers movie is, it had no love for Marvel’s artificial intelligence-centric film Avengers: Age of Ultron.

"“Avengers: Age of Ultron is the weakest entry in the franchise. Directed by Joss Whedon, the film attempted to follow the immensely successful first Avengers movie but struggled to live up to its predecessor’s quality and impact. One of the key criticisms revolves around the cluttered plot, which introduced several new characters and subplots without enough depth or development.Ultron, the primary antagonist, didn’t resonate as powerfully as expected, partly due to a lack of a compelling backstory. The movie also faced pacing issues, as it juggled numerous action sequences and character arcs, sometimes at the expense of coherent storytelling. Additionally, the film’s darker tone and less cohesive narrative compared to the first Avengers movie didn’t resonate as well with audiences, leading to a less satisfying overall experience for many fans.”"

Okay, I’m not going to lie, I totally agree with AI that Age of Ultron was the weakest of the Marvel Avengers movies. The movie was fun to watch and featured some amazing performances from its ensemble cast. It simply doesn’t live up to the standard the first movie set and was overshadowed by the third and fourth movies by a landslide.

I anticipated ChatGPT’s AI might select Age of Ultron as the worst of the Avengers movies. What I did not expect was for AI to put AI on blast by deeming Ultron as a villain without a compelling backstory.

Clearly, ChatGPT’s AI is not a fan of the bad rep Ultron gave AI in the MCU when he attempted to wipe out humanity.
