Doctor Who special episode 3 release date: When does the next episode come out?
Doctor Who will be back with the third of its three 60th anniversary specials, but when can you expect “The Giggle” to air?
The wait for new Doctor Who episodes was a long one, and even though a new full series has yet to begin, the beloved British classic has treated its fans to a trilogy of specials that celebrate its 60th anniversary.
The first of those specials aired on BBC One (and streamed internationally on Disney Plus) last week, while the second made its presence felt this week. Each one of them have been evoking plenty of emotions, especially as they have featured the returns of David Tennant’s Doctor and Catherine Tate’s Donna Noble.
The second special saw the pair attempt to deal with an out-of-control Tardis which took them on a terrifying adventure full of uncertainty. Needless to say fans are ready for more of the pair’s adventures.
When does the next Doctor Who special air?
The next Doctor Who special will on BBC One in the UK and Ireland next Saturday, December 9, at 6:30 p.m. GMT. Just like the previous two episodes, it will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer for those not watching live on the night (or on their computer devices).
If you’re watching outside of the UK, the third special will be available to stream on Disney Plus, landing in the US at 1:30 p.m. ET, 10:30 a.m. PT, 12:30 p.m. CT, and 11:30 a.m. MT. If you live outside of the US and UK, here is when you can expect episodes to premiere in your time zone.
Special 3 is titled “The Giggle” and it will see the Doctor and Donna face off against The Toymaker, portrayed by the one and only Neil Patrick Harris. It’s also important to note that this will be the last of the trilogy of 60th anniversary specials.
The good news is that it’s not the last of Doctor Who this year. The show will return for a holiday special on Christmas Day that will introduce us to our new Doctor and companion (who are played by Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson).
