House of the Dragon season 2 stuns with gorgeous first teaser trailer
Stop what you are doing – the first official teaser trailer for the second season of HBO’s House of the Dragon has finally dropped!
You read that right! We finally just got what we’ve been wanting for a long time! It felt like Christmas morning the moment my co-worker, Dan Selcke from WinterisComing, interrupted the movie my kids and I were watching to share the news that the first official teaser for House of the Dragon season 2 finally dropped today.
Witness its freaking glory below:
If that didn’t give you chills, I don’t know what to tell you.
The teaser trailer was released during a panel at Brazil Comic Con (CCXP) on Saturday, Dec. 2. HBO had already confirmed they’d be showing a first look at House of the Dragon season 2, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. We also got a confirmed cast list of new additions, including Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, and others.
The intensity in that teaser is real – I cannot wait to see such iconic moments from the Dance of the Dragons play out onscreen. That shot of the two dragons, one being Rhaenyra’s Syrax and another dragon whom I haven’t been able to identify yet but could be Seasmoke, facing each other like they mean business was incredible. We also see Helaena briefly, and she doesn’t look… happy. We’ll be seeing Rhaenyra, Alicent, Crispy Criston Cole (who finally got the “bad guy” haircut he desperately needed), Aegon, my Almond Joy, mommy’s little war criminal Aemond, and Daemon in the second season. The teaser trailer also features a screaming Baela on her dragon, Moondancer.
I. Cannot. Wait.
Last we saw our favorite dragons and their riders, Aegon II Targaryen was very wrongly crowned King of the Seven Kingdoms, Aemond made his nephew Luke a dragon snack for good ol’ Vhagar the Cranky, and Rhaenyra was just informed of such dragon snacking and was definitely not impressed. The war is on after she learns the news of her son’s death.
What remains to be seen is nothing but a whole lot of fire and blood – and it will not be for the faint of heart; trust me.
While the actual release date has yet to be announced, we now have another reason to desperately manifest summer 2024 to arrive as quickly as possible! Don’t miss the premiere of House of the Dragon season 2 next year.
