Predator vs Wolverine No. 3 added more of the Yautja connection to the Marvel Comics universe.

In Predator vs. Wolverine, one of the Predators has been hunting Wolverine for decades. Their first encounter was in the year 1900. The next came years later when Wolverine was working with Sabretooth and Maverick. During the recent issue (issue No. 3), Logan was at his most vulnerable as an experiment of Weapon X.

When the Predator saw Logan’s adamantium skeleton, he needed it for his collection of trophies. Despite the fact he was sedated and weak (not very Predator), the Yautja took the opportunity to capture Logan. This didn’t go the way he thought it would.

As the Yautja was escaping, the Canadian and American Governments sent planes to take its ship down and reclaim their property (Logan). While that didn’t work, the blast against the alien’s ship was enough to wake Logan up. Wolverine cut his way out of the spaceship and fell to Earth from space.

When Weapon X arrived to take Logan back, Professor Truett Hudson took the Yautja’s helmet. He later modeled it to create the helmet used to make Logan a more efficient killer.

Wolverine and the Predator’s battles have been fun. Writer Benjamin Percey has used their fights to bring the Yautja into the Marvel Comics universe. Having them be part of Logan’s history means he can’t be the only person he’s connected to. After reading Ed Brisson’s Predator: The Reserve, it’s clear that this is true. Plus, Ed Brisson has plans for the Predator in his upcoming series, Predator: The Last Hunt.

Brisson said, “We have a fun surprise in store for long-time fans of the Predator comics, but that’s about as much as I’ll say on it for now!” Unfortunately, fans will be waiting until February 2024 to find out what that means. Hopefully, it will have more hints about the Yautja, their involvement with Marvel characters, and Brisson’s original character Theta. Whatever it is, it will be welcomed.
