5 movies that definitely won’t be released in 2024

There are some amazing movies coming in 2024, but don't expect these blockbusters from Marvel Studios, Disney, and Paramount Pictures to arrive next year.

If Mission: Impossible 8 was at the top of your watchlist for 2024, we regret to inform you the latest in Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible franchise won’t be coming out next summer as originally planned.

While Paramount hoped to release the upcoming eighth film in the franchise on June 28, 2024, the movie has now been pushed back to May 23, 2025. The movie was among many films to be hit by delays which prevented the movie from finishing production in time for it to release during its original release date.

Little is known about the upcoming film with even the title remaining clear at this point. Originally Paramount had been billing the movie as Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two. Although the movie will still be a sequel to Dead Reckoning, it’ll be getting a new title which is expected to be announced at a later date.

What we do know is that Paramount will be hoping the eighth film in the franchise will perform better at the box office after Dead Reckoning underperformed, pulling in just $567 million globally. That was well under the $800 million many reported the film would need to make to be considered profitable. Perhaps getting that Memorial Day 2025 spot will bode well for the film’s odds!
