2. I’m a Virgo

  • Seasons: 1

  • Creator: Boots Riley

  • Cast: Jharrel Jerome, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Brett Gray, Kara Young, and Walton Goggins

I’m a Virgo is truly one of my favorite TV shows of 2023 so far. It’s a great new series from Boots Riley and stars Jharrel Jerome as Cootie, a 13-foot-tall teenager living in Oakland. He’s lived a life alone, kept secret by his aunt and uncle whom he lives with. When Cootie ventures out of his backyard, he begins to learn about life, friendship, and oppressive corporate and governmental systems.

I’m a Virgo is funny, but it’s also cutting commentary on elements of the world today. If you’re skeptical about watching a show about a teenager more than two times the normal human size, I urge you to watch the first episode. Then, you’ll be hooked!

I’m a Virgo season 2 has not been ordered at Amazon yet, but I think there’s a strong chance we do see a second season of the hit Prime Video series. It’s only a matter of time before it gets renewed, in my opinion. The series debuted during the writers’ and actors’ strike, so that’s likely why we haven’t learned about the show’s future yet. If Amazon wanted to cancel quickly, I’m guessing we’d already have heard the news.

Stay tuned for more news about I’m a Virgo!
