10. Iain Glen

When Iain Glen was cast as Bruce Wayne in DC’s Titans, fans weren’t quite sure what to make of it. The character was essentially off-limits for DC TV shows, and that made the decision to feature him on Titans all the more eyebrow-raising as the show was known for its rather unique adaptation of the Batman lore.

When he debuted in season 2, they also weren’t quite sure what to make of him. He initially came off as being a lot sweeter than the monster that Dick Grayson had described and the character had more Alfred-like qualities, coming off as a more gentle, retired Batman (even though he wasn’t retired).

Here’s the thing: Glen is a fantastic actor and whatever was asked of him, he sold it, delivering a multi-faceted performance when he returned in season 3 that highlighted the complexities of a Batman that had gone too far. He also approached the role with a charm and charisma that we haven’t seen since the late, great Adam West, playing the more traditional aspect of the Bruce Wayne character very well.

He’s particularly fantastic in the season 2 episode “Bruce Wayne” in which the character is a figment of Dick Grayson’s imagination. And that made us wish that the show gave him more consistent material, because the potential was there.
