9. George Clooney

It might come as a shock to you not to see George Clooney at the bottom of this list, but here’s the thing: He was a pretty decent Bruce Wayne. Actually, he was a pretty good Bruce Wayne.

Sure, he wasn’t a very good Batman and every time he appeared as the Caped Crusader, it was practically just like watching George Clooney in a pretty convincing Batman cosplay, but there was potential to his Bruce. From the emotional connection with Alfred Pennyworth to the constant conflict with Dick Grayson, Clooney was at his strongest when he was involved in the more character-driven plots of Batman and Robin, and it teased us with what he really would have been capable of with a better script.

Those were elements of Bruce we didn’t often see (especially on the screen) and Clooney was good in those particular moments. He also delivered a very convincing performance as Bruce’s public persona, looking suave and radiating that legendary Bruce Wayne charisma that the character is known for. That part came to him effortlessly. Again, he had all the makings of a great Bruce Wayne, and likely would have pulled it off in a very different movie.
