9. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice mech suit

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a flawed movie, but that certainly won’t prevent us from giving its flowers. The big centerpiece of the film was, of course, the epic battle between its titular heroes, and to say Zack Snyder crafted it with beauty would be an understatement. A love letter to The Dark Knight Returns, it sees the Caped Crusader step up to the Man of Steel at a time when nobody else would. To do that, he needed an upgrade.

The sight of Ben Affleck’s Batman, standing there in the pouring rain, suited up in the Mech Batsuit is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Not only did it look so unbelievably badass, it was one of the most comic-accurate Batsuits to ever grace the big screen (because, yes, it looked like it had been taken straight from the pages of Miller’s graphic novel).

It might be bulky, it might be impossible for Bruce Wayne to wear for long periods of time, but it was an effective weapon he was successfully able to use in a seemingly impossible fight – one that brought him to a hard-fought victory. It also gets bonus points for gifting us with one of the few times we saw Batman with those comic-accurate white eyes on-screen.

Oh, what a sight to behold.
