Batman: All 10 Batcaves ranked from worst to best
8. Gotham Knights
Gotham Knights gets something of a bad rap. The CW’s series about the murder of Batman (and framing of his adoptive son Turner Hayes) was set up for failure by a truly awful first trailer that turned a lot of people off before it began. While the show itself was a grower that showed real potential in its back half, one thing it absolutely nailed right out of the gate was the Batcave.
The pilot sees Turner and Stephanie Brown discover the cave in the depths of Wayne Manor, and honestly, it’s very impressive – far beyond what fans were expecting from the cheapest DC TV show to ever air on The CW.
First things first; it’s large and expansive, with lighted steps leading you down to the Batcomputer. From there, a large, high-quality walkway stretches out across a body of water. On it sits the Batmobile, clearly implying that this is the runway out of the Batcave. Behind the computer is a glass wall, featuring what looks like drives of information, likely the backup drives for the Batcomputer itself.
The only drawback is that the cave is never really explored beyond the Batcomputer (likely because this was the only practical set created whereas the rest was CGI) and the cave itself is dropped from the show two episodes in. That’s a shame because it really was a beautiful live-action adaptation that looked modern but also maintained the essence of the Batcave.
