5. Batman Forever / Batman and Robin

If you’ve seen the Joel Schumacher Batman movies, you’ll know that they liked to go big. And because they were so elaborate and over-the-top in their approach, they went really big, especially when it came to the Batcave.

First debuting in Batman Forever, this Batcave was glossier than the ones seen in the Tim Burton movies, and much more high-tech too. It featured a large rotund vault that housed all of the Batsuits, multiple computer screens (which were, of course, the Batcomputer), and a smaller offside technical area where Bruce would solve riddles (and do his experiments?). The centerpiece was the turntable that housed the incredibly cool and underrated Batmobile. It also featured a much deeper level that housed the Batwing and the Batboat, as well as an airway exit for the former, and a water tunnel for the latter.

After The Riddler destroyed it, it got something of an upgrade for 1997 sequel Batman and Robin (and by “upgrade” we mean that it got fancier). There was a much larger Batcomputer screen that could be shielded by a sliding Bat-emblem panel, the glossy effect was magnified, and the Batmobile’s turntable also house Robin’s Birdcycle.

These Batman movies may have prioritized style over substance but boy were they stylish.
