Batman: All 10 Batcaves ranked from worst to best
3. The Dark Knight Trilogy
The Dark Knight Trilogy is widely regarded as one of the best adaptations of the Batman lore, and its Batcave is one of the many reasons why. Known as the Southeast Corner of Wayne Manor, the cave kept things rather simple.
Much like the Tim Burton movies, this Batcave’s real charm lies in the fact that it’s just a cave. Christopher Nolan liked to keep his Batman movies grounded, and that meant not overcomplicating things with technology. Instead, we have a cave, with a ton of bats that were drawn to the light of Bruce Wayne’s torch and surrounded him, leading to the official birth of the Batman. There were also some cabinets in which the Batsuit, Batarangs and other gadgets were stored.
Its defining trait was the large waterfall that shielded it from the outside world. It was also the entrance and exit, meaning that Bruce often burst through it in the Batmobile (which made for some truly exquisite visuals in Batman Begins). And the other entrance was an old creaky elevator that could accessed from Wayne Manor by hitting the right notes on a nearby piano.
When the Batcave returned in The Dark Knight Rises, it mostly remained the same. However, there were some changes, most notably the platforms upon which the Batcompter sat and the hidden underwater costume and gadget vault.
