3. I Am Groot
Now who doesn't love some laughs from Groot. I know I can't say I don't. The Guardians of the Galaxy's little guy always brings them, and there were plenty of them in his own Disney Plus series of shorts. But the truth is that I Am Groot just can't stand up next to the other Marvel Studios shows on Disney Plus because it doesn't feature the same level of dramatic storytelling that those do.
It's okay because it's not supposed to. These are five minute shorts designed to simply make us smile or laugh (or both) and Baby Groot has no problem doing that. Set between the events of Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the shorts give us a glimpse of the character's growth period as he evolves from tiny, baby Groot into the Baby Groot who we meet in the second film.
They feature him getting into battle with a robotic snowman and attempting to track down an intergalactic ice cream ship while looking for pocket money. And they are as outrageous as you can expect from the beloved character.
Some might consider it unfair to place I Am Groot on this list since it doesn't have all of the dramatic beats or storylines of the other shows, but it is an MCU series produced for Disney Plus so, as wonderful as it is, it does unfortunately come in last. But we're still very thankful this one happened, because we love Groot. Can we have a third season, please?
