4 TV shows that will probably be cancelled in 2025

2025 will bring new beginning for plenty of TV shows, but it could (sadly) be the beginning of the end for these ones.

Batman: Caped Crusader

Fear not, Bat-fans: Batman: Caped Crusader's second season is still on the way. The series, which was produced for WarnerMedia streamer Max, was saved by Amazon's Prime Video, which offered it a two-season lifeline. But the question is whether it can go beyond that or not.

The animated series premiered this summer to positive reviews and some welcome fanfare, but there was one major shadow looming over it (and it wasn't in the shape of a bat). While Prime Video are in charge of its future now, the series is still a part of the previous DC leadership's vision and that means it has to prove itself a whole lot more than it should have to. Remember, The CW was the network that was producing Superman and Lois, but it was still Warner Bros. and DC that made the decision to end the series with season 4; not the network. Could the same happen here?

We know that the DCU's Batman won't be appearing for quite some time, but whenever he does, DC Studios may not want another Dark Knight existing in animated form (you know, as the DCU's characters can cross over into animation). Batman tends to a rule-breaker (there were allowed to be three live-action Batman movie universes simultaneously but only Superman, apparently) so Caped Crusader could live to fight another day and get a season 3 renewal in the future, but Prime Video would also have to agree.

The show generated quite a lot of buzz when it premiered, once again highlighting Prime Video's growing success as a superhero project streamer. However, it didn't generate the same levels of buzz as Prime Video's own Invincible, which continues to break the internet every time new episodes are released. Now, obviously we're not expecting every one of the streamer's projects to be judged against each other, but as Caped Crusader is a Batman project, could there have been higher expectations.

We hope not, because Batman: Caped Crusader has been one of the most refreshing shows of the year.
