Agatha All Along episode 8 release date twist: When the finale comes out
It's hard to believe that Agatha All Along has been on our screens for over a month now. The Disney Plus series has been thrilling fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, maintaining the high standard that the franchise has reclaimed for itself with Deadpool and Wolverine this summer. But that shouldn't be too surprising when you look at the absolute quality of performers in it.
The series is a spinoff of WandaVision, the very first Marvel Studios original show produced for the Disney Plus streaming service which made history by earning the studio its first Emmy Award nominations and wins. Kathryn Hahn was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her exhilarating performance as Agatha Harkness, and she is once again proving that she deserves another in each and every episode of Agatha All Along.
Speaking of Agatha's episode count, the show is very quickly heading towards its conclusion. And now, after its fairytale-esque seventh episode, all sights are set on the eighth episode. But there's a twist, as what some viewers might not know is that episode 8 won't be all they are getting.
When Agatha All Along episode 8 and 9 come out
Agatha All Along episode 8 is released on Disney Plus next Wednesday, October 30. But it won't be alone, as episode 9 - the season finale - will also be available to stream. Both episodes will be available to watch at 9:00 p.m. ET on the East Coast, and at 6:00 p.m. PT for viewers on the West Coast. Those watching on Mountain Time can tune in at 7:00 p.m. MT while fans in the Midwest can stream it at 8:00 p.m. CT.
The series has served as the perfect spooky season treat, so it makes sense that Marvel would prefer to have it conclude with a double-finale on the eve of Halloween. It also isn't the first time that the show will have a special double installment release, as it premiered with its first two episodes as well, before moving to the weekly episodic release format.
The MCU show has received praise from both fans and critics for how well it has handled the episodic TV format. Many of the previous Marvel Studios shows have struggled to justify their existence as a TV series as they essentially functioned as a six-part movie. But Agatha All Along, much like its predecessor WandaVision, has made every single episode feel like an adventure in and of itself, enhancing the overall storyline as a result. The finished product is much more satisfying because of that as it proves that Agatha needed to be a TV show (whereas some of the other shows could have worked as movies).
With that in mind, don't be surprised if the eighth and ninth episodes of the show are both standalone installments, focusing on separate trials or storylines, while also serving the overall story arc. We saw that in the two-part season premiere (the first episode saw Billy restoring Agatha's memories and the second was about forming the coven and opening the Witches' Road), so the finale could very well be the same.
One way or another, Agatha All Along will undoubtedly go out on a memorable note - and we're not ready for it to end (although we are more than ready to watch the finale!).
Episodes 1 - 7 of Agatha All Along are currently available to stream on Disney Plus and the final two episodes will stream next Wednesday.
