All season long, fans have been waiting to see if an episode of Agatha All Along would end with a post-credits scene, and with each passing episode, there was none to enjoy. The hope was that with the finale’s arrival, that trend would finally end which has often been the case for Marvel TV series.
Over the course of its many shows, Marvel has often saved the post-credits scene teases for the finale episodes of shows with some truly epic post-credits scenes featured within every one of Marvel’s live-action shows. Many of these post-credits scenes have been used to tease what was next for the characters from shows.
The hope was that Agatha All Along would follow this trend with a post-credits scene that teased what would happen next for the characters, but Marvel had other plans.
Agatha All Along has no post-credits scenes
Much to the surprise and disappointment of fans, Agatha All Along features no post-credits scenes in any episodes. Not even the finale had a post-credits scene which was something that left fans shocked as the ending most certainly left fans wanting more and hoping a bonus scene would give us a hint of what would come next for Agatha and Billy.
Instead, the finale credits rolled without a single mid or post-credits scene to enjoy which means that Agatha All Along has made Marvel history by becoming the first live-action Marvel original series not to feature at least one post-credits scene during the span of its season.
That’s right, despite having nine episodes, there was not one single bonus scene in Agatha All Along. While the credits are worth sticking around for at the end of the episodes, you won’t catch any bonus content in any of the episodes which is a departure from what we’re used to from Marvel series and is a bit of a shocking change of pace.
It’s unclear why there were no post-credits scenes in Agatha All Along
Interestingly, it’s unclear why exactly there were no post-credits scenes within Agatha All Along’s 9-episode season. It’s possible that the decision was made to avoid setting up a project that might not come to fruition as this has become a growing trend in the MCU.
Many recent MCU movies and shows have included post-credit scenes that set up for epic moments, that have yet to pay off and that might never pay off due to creative shifts within the MCU. The best example of this is how Marvel had used many recent post-credits scenes to set up Kang’s arch in the MCU, which ended up having to be thrown out the window when the studio pivoted away from the character amid Jonathan Majors’ legal troubles.
With the future of the MCU up in the air with many unknowns, it’s likely that Marvel opted not to include a post-credits scene because it is still working out where the story will go next and the studio did not want to promote a moment that might not happen for years or at all.
Given it’s unconfirmed when we’ll see Billy or Agatha next, it makes sense that Marvel decided to leave fans with a bit of a question mark by ending the show on a cliffhanger that teased more story to come rather than using a post-credits scene to tease an exact project. And honestly, that might have been the better call.
We know there are many rumors about what might be next for these characters, but nothing has been confirmed so ending the season with the major cliffhanger we received in the finale was a perfect final note that didn’t need a post-credits scene. As much as we’d have loved a post-credits scene we appreciate that the show’s creative team chose to end the season with a cliffhanger and let that final scene be what has left fans talking – not a post-credits scene.
