The Dark Knight is everywhere, jumping out of any shadow to stop criminals in a heartbeat and gliding his way into different movies, comics, and video games. Given his status as one of DC's most popular heroes, Batman will have no shortage of projects releasing over the following years. After a long wait, The Batman Part II will finally start production. Furthermore, the Caped Crusader will have his own DCU solo project in the form of The Brave and the Bold. And who can forget about the Rocksteady single-player Batman game that's rumored to be in development?

The future seems bright for DC's darkest hero. But amidst all the things to look forward to, there's one in particular that's shaping up to be something truly special.

A collection of Batman's greatest moments across comic book pages, TV series, and theatrical films, combined into one action-packed adventure that's set to pull no punches. Fans eagerly await the release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, as everything that has been shown about the game so far looks spectacular. The best part? We'll get to play it earlier than anticipated.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will release one week earlier than originally announced

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was originally set to release on May 29, 2026. However, that plan quickly changed when the Riddler took over the game's social media accounts. See, Edward Nygma published four cryptic posts, each containing a riddle for the world to solve. Fans did their best Batman impression and quickly uncovered four one-word answers that, when united, read: "Hand Over the Dark Knight."

The solution seemed to activate the Batsignal, and as was to be expected, the Dark Knight answered. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was moved up a week and will now release on May 22, 2026. Furthermore, people who preorder the Deluxe Edition will get three days of early access, starting May 19.

TT Games also revealed the first in-game look at their iteration of The Riddler. Interestingly, the villain's wanted poster specifies he has been busy "trophy dumping" and crafting "illegal scavenger hunts." It was already revealed that Riddler boxes would be scattered around Gotham City, but this newest information suggests that Riddler trophies could make a return as well, paying homage to the Batman: Arkham saga. Speaking of which, there's also another surprise for fans of Rocksteady's video game franchise.

It was recently revealed that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will contain an entire level dedicated to the Batman: Arkham saga. We even got a glimpse at this sequence in the form of a small video that showcases the Caped Crusader walking the Joker to his cell, mirroring the opening of Batman: Arkham Asylum. But if that weren't enough, we'll also get to watch events pulled straight from Batman '89, The Dark Knight trilogy, Matt Reeves' The Batman, and more.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an upcoming adventure developed by TT Games that will take players on a journey throughout the Caped Crusader's most iconic moments across different media. The game will allow you to control seven different characters in the form of Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman, Batgirl, Jim Gordon, and Talia al Ghul. Furthermore, there will be a local co-op mode, but the entire game can be experienced solo as well.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on all major consoles on May 22, 2026.
