Marvel Studios is laying the groundwork for the grand finale of its Multiverse Saga. Now, there are still a lot of movies to come out before we get there, but the new plan is in motion as the studio looks to create a Marvel Cinematic Universe moment much like it did with Avengers: Endgame. That moment will likely come in Avengers: Secret Wars.

The direct sequel to Avengers: Doomsday and the likely conclusion of the Multiverse Saga, it is expected to have the titular team of MCU heroes unite with heroes all across the multiverse in a bid to stop the dangerous Doctor Doom (who will be played by MCU legend Robert Downey Jr.). Fans are predicting that it will rival the iconic showdown between The Avengers and Thanos in Avengers: Endgame that brought about a close to the Infinity Saga.

That will no doubt be a moment in cinematic history if it does happen, but it also sounds like there could be another major battle in Avengers: Secret Wars. And trust us when we say that you are not expecting it.

All Three Spider-Men rumored to fight each other in Avengers: Secret Wars

According to veteran Marvel scooper MyTimeToShineHello, all three of the cinematic Spider-Men will battle each other in Avengers: Secret Wars. Sharing a tweet on social media platform Twitter which featured a clip of the three Spideys from 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, the scooper captioned the post with "They’ll be forced to face off against each other in Secret Wars" (along with a heartbroken emoji).

No Way Home was the third movie in the MCU's Spider-Man franchise and it primarily starred Tom Holland as the webslinger. In one of the great moments of the past decade of movies, it also featured him crossing paths with both of his predecessors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Maguire, of course, played Peter Parker in Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man trilogy while Garfield played the role in Marc Webb's more recent The Amazing Spider-Man films.

The three Spideys teamed up to stop a team of villains that originated from both of the previous franchises and it served as one of the most important movies of the franchise's ongoing Multiverse Saga. The other two Spider-Men and their respective villains were pulled into the MCU via a multiversal spell gone wrong, and it was just the beginning of the multiversal stories that the franchise would tell.

With the saga set to conclude in Avengers: Secret Wars, it would make sense that both Maguire and Garfield return in the film. That much wouldn't be that surprising given that fans are actively hoping for it to happen; the notion of the three of them battling each other, now that's unexpected. How could that go down?

Well, there are rumors that Peter Parker may end up coming face-to-face with the Venom symbiote in his next trilogy and we know that often makes Spidey act out-of-character. Could this be what brings the other two Spider-Men back? Remember, Tobey Maguire's Peter encountered the symbiote in Spider-Man 3 so he has experience dealing with it.

Then again, maybe we'll just meet an alternate version of Tom Holland's Spider-Man that is evil. The Multiverse Saga does evil doppelgangers very well, so it wouldn't be too unbelievable if that happened.

It's also important to note that Maguire and Garfield's Spider-Men are rumored to return in Spider-Man 4, so it's not hard to believe that they may have something of a recurring presence in the Multiverse Saga's final chapters. And given that Spider-Man 4 is set to be released during Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, it's also believable that the two veteran Spideys could be involved in both of those projects. But, if the rumors of a showdown between all three of the Spider-Men are true, just what is it that could make something like that happen?
