We are eight months out from the release of Avengers: Doomsday, which means it's going to be a very interesting year for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. December 18 might be the big day but nobody loves to tease more than Marvel Studios, so you can rest assured that we're in for the majority of a year's worth of wink-winks and nods as the film expected to be 2026's biggest prepares for its theatrical release.
We've seen that already, as the studio unveiled four separate trailers for Avengers: Doomsday across four weeks between the end of 2025 and the start of 2026. And now, four months later, fans are ready for more, as speculation about another - full-length - teaser trailer has been rife due to Marvel's upcoming planned appearance at CinemaCon this week. However, we need to taper our expectations for one very large reason.
Avengers: Doomsday trailer may be unveiled at CinemaCon (but that doesn't mean it will be released online)
Walt Disney Studios is set to take to the CinemaCon stage at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 16, and fans are expecting big things from Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm's Star Wars franchise. The latter will, of course, be offering up more sneak peeks and teases from the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu while rumor has it that Marvel plans to go big on Avengers: Doomsday promo.
What that could look like remains to be seen, but a number of reports have suggested that it could involve screening the first teaser trailer for the MCU movie. You might hear the word and scoff as there have been four previous trailers released, but those are very much marketed as "teasers", hinting at major aspects of the movie (Steve Rogers' return, Thor's potential sacrifice, the X-Men's involvement, and the Wakanda / Fantastic Four crossover). The first teaser, however, will give us an indication of the movie's plot, while also potentially featuring the first look at Doctor Doom.
As for why CinemaCon might get some of those sneak peeks, it wouldn't be the first time that Marvel has promoted an Avengers film at the event. In 2019, the studio unveiled a first look clip of Avengers: Endgame that involved Captain Marvel discussing attack plans for Thanos with the Avengers themselves - which was obviously a major crossover at the time. However, it was exclusive to those in the audience, meaning that it was never released to the wider public until the release of the movie.

Needless to say, we could see Marvel adopt a similar method here of releasing an exclusive first look to audiences in attendance without allowing the rest of the world to watch it. It's unlikely to be a clip at this early stage considering we don't know very much about the movie, so it could indeed be a shortened teaser trailer and / or sizzle reel designed to give attendees a glimpse of what's to come in the 2026 film.
The reason that we're unlikely to get a full teaser trailer released online is down to the fact that Marvel Studios will likely be presenting a major panel at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, and that's where the first full trailer for the film is expected to be released. After all, the studio's co-production with Sony Pictures, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is set to arrive this summer and the first trailer for that has just been released. Given that some fans already felt the early marketing for Avengers: Doomsday somewhat overshadowed that one, it's unlikely that another Doomsday first look will surface shortly after that.
With all of that in mind, it's quite possible that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige could make some major Avengers: Doomsday announcements. It's also possible that the studio could drop some major teases about the film. But considering that we are still around eight months out from the film's debut in theaters, we shouldn't be expecting a full-length teaser trailer to surface online just yet - especially after kikcing off marketing early with those four original teasers and likely planning to go big on the film at SDCC.
So, yes, get excited for CinemaCon, but like so many Marvel fans, it's probably best to keep your expectations on the lower side. Any surprises and they will very much be pleasant ones.
