There's nothing like a collaboration between the two undisputed titans of the superhero industry. Marvel and DC recently joined forces for the first time in decades to bring some of their most popular characters together and set them loose on unforgettable adventures. The first crossover issue came in the form of Deadpool/Batman No.1, which Marvel published on Sep. 17, 2025, and was filled with tons of action, a bit of drama, and countless jokes that broke the fourth wall. But while this unlikely team-up will conclude this November when DC releases Batman/Deadpool No. 1, the future looks very bright.
Deadpool/Batman No.1 also featured other "backup stories" in which iconic characters such as Wonder Woman crossed paths with Captain America, and where Jeff the Land Shark got to play with Krypto. But while it's been fun to see these different universes collide after a very long time, fans have been eager to discover who the stars of the next big team-up series will be. Fortunately, we finally have an answer, and it's everything we could have hoped for.
A Spider-Man and Superman comic book crossover will be released in 2026
There was a reason why Spider-Man was nowhere to be seen in the backup stories of Deadpool/Batman No. 1, and why Superman only appeared in a few panels, yet he didn't have any dialogue. Marvel and DC were saving the best for last, as the Wall-Crawler and the Man of Steel will have the spotlight all to themselves.
In March 2026, DC will kick off this highly anticipated team-up by releasing Superman/Spider-Man No. 1. The two heroes will then meet in Spider-Man/Superman No. 1, which will be published by Marvel in April 2026. For the time being, the creative teams behind these two issues remain under wraps, but more information will be revealed in the following months.
Alongside these new tales, Marvel and DC will also give superhero fans another welcome surprise. Two Treasury Edition facsimile reprints of the original Spider-Man and Superman crossover published in 1976 will come our way. On Jan. 7, 2026, DC will release the Treasury Edition 50th Anniversary of Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man No. 1. Additionally, Marvel will follow a similar strategy by releasing DC and Marvel Present: Superman and Spider-Man Treasury Edition No. 1 on Feb. 4, 2026.
Given how Deadpool/Batman No. 1 featured many backup stories that shone the spotlight on other characters aside from its titular heroes, we can assume the same will hold true for Superman/Spider-Man No. 1 and Spider-Man/Superman No. 1. So if your favorite Marvel and DC team-up hasn't happened yet, there's still a chance it might come to fruition.
While the Merc With A Mouth was hired to kill Batman in their team-up crossover, we can imagine the circumstances in which Spidey and Superman will meet will be radically different. After all, the two heroes are perhaps the biggest symbols of hope in their respective universes, and their collaboration will be nothing short of optimistic and bright. Hopefully, it won't be long before we find out more about what surprises await in store once these two universes collide yet again.
Superman/Spider-Man No. 1 will be released in March 2026.
