Back in 2019, Earth's Mightiest Heroes celebrated their biggest victory while simultaneously suffering from their biggest losses. While the war against Thanos and his forces was eventually won, it came at the cost of losing fan-favorites Iron Man and Black Widow. As if that wasn't enough, the scars of such a big confrontation also led to the retirement of Captain America. Half of the life in the universe was restored, but The Avengers disbanded in the process leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe defenseless against any multiversal threat.
Fortunately, there's still a glimmer of hope. During the events of Captain America: Brave New World, Sam Wilson was tasked with assembling a new iteration of heroes to protect the world from the unknown. While that mission was briefly interrupted due to the fact that the president turned into a big, red monster, we'd imagine it will take more relevance the moment Doctor Doom makes his impending arrival. On the bright side, there are a lot of big characters to choose from to save the multiverse.
A big wave of new heroes was recently introduced both on the big and small screen, including the likes of Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, The Eternals, and many more. So where should Captain America start? Well, what about recruiting one of the heroes closest to him? (and no, we're not talking about Bucky Barnes because... well, he'll be a Thunderbolt soon enough.) Instead, we're talking about Danny Ramirez's Falcon who took on Cap's former mantle. While it remains to be seen if he will join a new iteration of The Avengers, the future seems bright for his character.

The Falcon was spotted in the U.K. ahead of Avengers: Doomsday filming
With Avengers: Doomsday set to begin filming this April in the U.K., all eyes are set on any potential set photos or casting news that can give us a better idea of what to expect once the movie premieres. Fortunately, it seems one of those long-awaited "news" just made its way online.
According to veteran Marvel account Marvel Updates, Danny Ramirez was spotted in the U.K. ahead of production. While this is far from being a confirmation, it is a very exciting sign (especially because he absolutely stole the spotlight in Captain America: Brave New World).
Joaquin Torres' big screen arc could, then, be very similar to that of Sam Wilson. The former Falcon made his debut in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, had a brief cameo in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and then joined the big leagues during Avengers: Infinity War. Likewise, this new iteration of Falcon made a cameo appearance in a team-up project (in the form of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), made his proper introduction in a Captain America movie, and may now join Earth's Mightiest Heroes during Avengers: Doomsday. The parallels are undeniable.
Joaquin Torres risked his life to prevent a literal war in his last cinematic appearance — an act that further cemented him as a big MCU hero. While his current injuries might be a setback, we all know he'd be ready to jump into action at any time if his entire universe needed him. With that in mind, it would be extremely shocking if Captain America didn't ask him to be a member of The Avengers, especially since taking Doom down will require the support of every hero available.
It's no secret that Marvel actors tend to sign a multi-picture deal whenever they are cast in a big role such as Falcon. So even if we don't know how many appearances MCU Joaquin Torres still has in store, all signs indicate that he'll be an important face moving forward in the franchise. On the bright side, we're getting closer and closer to finally witnessing what Avengers: Doomsday has to offer. So even if there's a lot of secrecy surrounding the project, chances are we'll get official news closer to the release date. Fingers crossed one of them is the official casting of Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres!
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on May 1, 2026.
