Charlie Cox is widely known for bringing Matt Murdock to life—a devilish vigilante who won't miss the chance to make criminals pay for their bad deeds and aura farm just a little along the way. We recently watched him jump into action on the small screen courtesy of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, the ongoing Disney+ show that's aiming to surpass its predecessor in every way possible. However, Charlie Cox also made a different kind of history last year, and it wasn't due to his long-awaited return as the Man Without Fear.
If you play video games, chances are that you've heard about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The highly acclaimed title developed by Sandfall Interactive had a stellar showing at the Game Awards 2025, winning in multiple categories including Game of the Year. Moreover, Charlie Cox did such an outstanding job voicing the character of Gustave that he earned a nomination for Best Performance. Now, the beloved actor might be looking to make ripples in the video game industry once again, except in a different, more involved role.

Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox will work on a new video game
During an interview with Agents of Fandom, Charlie Cox discussed how impressed he was by the reception of his work on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and how such an experience has allowed him to work on a new, upcoming video game:
"I loved being part of Expedition 33. I was blown away by the success that it's had and how far-reaching that game has been, and it has seemingly opened a new avenue for my professional work. I'm going to do another game this year, which is going to be much more involved for me, much more work."
The key detail to note here is that Charlie Cox's upcoming role will be "much more involved". While he was amazing at voicing Gustave in Expedition 33, the character's motion capture performance was done by Maxence Cazorla, whom Charlie shouted out in the interview: "Special shoutout to Maxence Cazorla, who did the mocap for the character that I voiced."
With that in mind, it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that Charlie will now do both the voice acting and the mocap performance of his upcoming character. Unfortunately, details about this upcoming game remain under wraps, and since Charlie hasn't recorded any lines yet, it is unlikely we'll see a trailer soon (though it never hurts to dream, especially now that Summer Game Fest is just around the corner).

Charlie Cox has stated that he recorded all of his lines for Expedition 33 in about 4 hours total. Furthermore, this is just his second-ever voice-acting role after Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Despite that, he managed to earn worldwide acclaim for his work and even a Best Performance nomination. As such, we can't wait to discover what he can achieve with a "much more involved" role.
Interestingly, he isn't the only cast member of Daredevil: Born Again who has made a big impression on the video game world. Deborah Ann Woll, known for portraying the role of Karen Page, also provided the voice and motion capture performance for Faye in God of War: Ragnarok (and she should reprise the role in the upcoming Amazon Prime live-action series, in case anyone involved in the show's production is reading this).
The Punisher's Jon Bernthal also played the role of Cole D. Walker, the main antagonist in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. Furthermore, everyone's favorite Kingpin of Crime, Vincent D'Onofrio, voiced Duke Luca Abele in Dishonored 2. Hopefully, all of these legendary actors can one day portray their Marvel characters in a Daredevil game (especially if it is developed by Insomniac Games).
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
