6. Spider-Man: Homecoming

Onto our second Spider-Man movie in the Top 10, many won't be surprised to see Spider-Man: Homecoming on the list because it was so well-received when it came out in 2017. However, you might be surprised to see it rank so highly, particularly because of the movies it managed to outpace in terms of Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer score.

Critics praised Homecoming for settling well into the MCU franchise without getting too bogged down in the wider story, which allowed it to appeal to general Spider-Man fans who hadn't been keeping up with the MCU. The film was also well-received for taking more of a John Hughes approach to the storytelling, which gave it a very earnest, heartfelt feel at its core. Furthermore, Tom Holland received a ton of praise for his beyond-his-years performance as Peter Parker, while Michael Keaton's nuanced turn as the Vulture earned acclaim for being one of the strongest standalone villains in the franchise.

It did receive some criticism from fans due to how reliant Peter was on Tony Stark, which admittedly did result in it lacking that Spider-Man movie feel, so there are many that will likely disagree with its 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes. But it's certified fresh, and even though bigger movies have come along since, it's nice to see this Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man film holding its own just outside of the Top 5.
