More than six years ago, audiences saw Daredevil star in his own show for the last time in what would feel like an eternity. Ever since then, there's been an increasing hunger to see the Devil of Hell's Kitchen back in action and with the spotlight all to his own. However, there has also been a lingering worry that perhaps Disney wouldn't be able to replicate the same levels of grittiness, violence, and mature storytelling found in the original project now that the character arrived in The Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As such, fans have been eagerly awaiting to see what early reactions have to say about Born Again and whether it's worth getting our expectations up or not. Well, it is with great pleasure that I can say that it appears we're back.

In just one week, audiences will dive into the terrifying streets of Hell's Kitchen once again, except this time there will be more blood on its walls and roads. People who were able to attend the premiere of Daredevil: Born Again and watched the first two episodes are saying the show is just as violent and dark as its predecessor. However, we all know that isn't enough to win over our hearts. Great action sequences are also needed, as well as a thrilling story that takes us to unexpected places. On the bright side, it seems we'll see that and even more as revealed by the media's reactions:

Phase Zero's Brandon Davis finally states what every fan has been dying to hear: The show feels like a true continuation of the Netflix show. It's just as fast-paced while Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio deliver fantastic performances as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk once again. Unfortunately, it appears the GCI will be a weak spot (as it has been on almost every MCU project to date since Avengers: Endgame). But on the bright side: that seems to be the only worry.

Veteran Daredevil social media account, Daredevil Updates, says that Daredevil: Born Again retains what made its predecessor so special while also taking the story in a brand new and unexpected direction. The best part? Action sequences could be better and more polished this time around, even if they were already a highly praised aspect of the Netflix series. An upgrade on the fighting choreography? Count. Us. In.

The Reel Roundup praises the show for bringing a new level of grittiness into the MCU, which has rarely diverged from creating light-hearted projects. They also state is the best Disney Plus show released so far, which is saying something considering the amazing heights reached by the likes of Loki and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

We were all fans of the long, one-shot hallway fight scenes of the original Marvel's Daredevil series. Fortunately, it seems Born Again will kick things off in a similar fashion — setting the scene up for even better things to come.

Overall, early reactions to Daredevil: Born Again are extremely positive. It's unanimously agreed that it will be just as dark and violent as the Netflix series but with even better fight sequences. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio do a fantastic job of portraying the same characters we fell in love with all those years ago once again, and it appears their arcs will dive into unexpected places. One-shot action scenes are back, and it's claimed that the series will kick off with a shocking and dark event that will set the perfect mood for everything that happens afterward.

The only negative aspects seem to be the lack of polished VFX, while a few reactions also say there are a few pacing issues here and there. However, episodes 1 and 2 seem to pick things up right where they left without losing a single beat. At the time being, it remains to be seen if the same levels of praise will be given to the complete first season as a whole. That being said, it's impossible not to get excited when learning that Marvel might have outdone themselves with the difficult task of creating a sequel to one of the best superhero projects ever created.

So what's next? Well, the review embargo for Daredevil: Born Again will be lifted on March 4 at 6 pm PST. That's when we'll know if there's a reason to get excited for the complete journey ahead of ourselves. Furthermore, the first two episodes of the highly anticipated Disney Plus series will arrive on the same date — giving us a glimpse of the new chapter in Daredevil's story.
